House Majority Leader Congressman Kevin McCarthy is a Republican from California.  He represents California’s 23rd district – near Bakersfield.  After he was elected to Congress in 2006 – Kevin quickly became Chief Deputy Whip and later served as Majority Whip. In 2014 – he was elected Majority Leader of the House – where he now leads Congress in fighting for individual liberty – an efficient and effective government – free markets – and a vibrant civil society. He served in the California State Assembly from 2002 to 2006 – the last two years as minority leader.   Leader McCarthy.  This session in 2017, Leader McCarthy has faced some of the largest challenges in recent Congressional history.  Repeal Obamacare, install Trump care, rewrite immigration law, over see investigations of Russian meddling in U.S. elections are just a few of the items on the House agenda.
