About Bob Capano

Bob Capano is running for the 43rd Council district in Brooklyn, which will be vacant next year due to term limits on the incumbent. The district covers the neighborhoods of Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, and Bensonhurst. He is a staunch supporter of the NYPD and is considered to be the leading Republican candidate.  Bob is an experienced educator, professional business manager, and well-respected community leader. Bob was born, raised and educated in Bay Ridge. For the last 12 years, Bob has been an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at John Jay College of Criminal, and is a Gristedes store manager. Bob has served as Director of Community Boards and Community Relations with former Democratic Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.  He also spent several years as the Brooklyn Director for former Republican Congressman Vito Fossella.  He also chaired the Civic Affairs Committee of the Bay Ridge Community Council and was Vice President of the Bay Ridge Consumer Federation. Bob also served as a member of the 68th Precinct Community Council for close to 10 years.
