About Dr. Jason Dyck

Dr. Jason Dyck is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and the Director of the Jason Dyck Cardiovascular Research Centre at the University of Alberta. He is also the co-director of the Alberta HEART, which is a province-wide program aimed at understanding and treating diastolic heart failure. Dr. Dyck has a broad area of research topics which are linked by Dr. Dyck’s interest in how alterations in energy metabolism contribute to these diseases. Since establishing his independent research program, Dr. Dyck has published a number of important studies that have had a significant impact on the area of cardiac energy metabolism and have contributed to the understanding of the pathogenesis of heart defects associated with altered cardiac energetics.
