About Thomas DiNapoli

Thomas DiNapoli, a Democrat, is the 54th comptroller of the state of New York. He is a former state assemblyman in New York, and was appointed New York State comptroller on February 7, 2007. He’s been making government more accountable and transparent to the people for more than 35 years. The New York State comptroller manages the State’s $176.8 billion pension fund, and audits the spending practices of all state agencies and local governments. He was formerly the chairman of the Assembly Environmental Conservation Committee. DiNapoli is from Long Island. Since taking office, Tom DiNapoli has aggressively fought the misuse of public resources, strengthened one of the nation’s top public pension funds, and consistently spoken out against fiscal gimmicks, imprudent actions, and government inefficiency.
