About Patrick Lynch
Patrick Lynch – is the President of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (PBA -) a union for more than 20,000 beat cops in the city’s five boroughs. Lynch joined the NYPD in 1984. He earned three Exceptional Police Duty awards and also received an Exceptional Merit citation for his actions during a shoot-out with criminals. He began his union career in 1989 – in the 90th Precinct in Williamsburg – Brooklyn. In 1999 – Pat led an insurgent team of reform-minded delegates who fought against that corruption and – won the presidency of the NYC PBA – the world’s largest police union. President Lynch is infuriated about the lack of retirement care for cops injured on duty – and pay raise of 1% raise over 2 years – while the NY City Council just awarded themselves a 71% increase.
