About Dr. Seymour Lachman
Dr. Seymour Lachman has had a career that has encompassed several different professions. He has been a teacher, a college professor, an administrator and policy maker, a state senator, an author and a television commentator. For the last several years, Seymour has served as the Dean of the Hugh L. Carey Institute for Government Reform at Wagner College, where he is also a Distinguished University Professor of Government. He was elected to the New York State Senate in 1996 and served five terms. Before his political career, he was the University Dean for
Community Development at the City University of New York and Professor of Educational Administration and Government at the Baruch College School of Public Administration. Seymour has written several books. His most recent book is, “Failed State: Dysfunction and Corruption in an American Statehouse”
