About Dr. Lori Billinghurst
Dr. Lori Billinghurst, MD, MSc, FRCPC is an Attending Physician at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. She is an expert and thought leader in pediatric brain injury and neurocritical care and serves as the Neurology Director of the Neonatal Neurocritical Care Program at CHOP. The focus of her academic research career has been the diagnosis, clinical care, and prognosis of infants and children with cerebrovascular disease and stroke. She has led several research studies investigating functional, visual, neurocognitive, and epilepsy outcomes after brain injury. Findings from her studies have informed the design and implementation of new strategies to prevent or minimize brain injury and improve patient outcomes. Dr. Billinghurst also has a passion for medically underserved Aboriginal communities in Canada and she has been providing neurology outreach care in the Arctic for the past decade. Dr. Billinghurst is married to the Canadian General Consul of New York Ambassador John Prato.
