Interview Highlights
– “The more that we’re finding out – it’s a terrorist attack (San Bernardino shootings)… but how could you ever think that you could drop off a six-month-old baby to your grandparents and knowing that you’re going to go kill somebody?”
– “The minds of these individuals, the pipe bombs they had. This is when we talk about making sure America is safe, and what’s going on around the world, we’ve got to make sure within Congress that we’re doing all we can for the security of this country.”
– “Lots of times when I look at what the president is doing, I fundamentally disagree with him on foreign policy. When he said we needed a restart in Russia, when Yemen was an example of his foreign policy and he watched it collapse, when he said ISIL was a JV team – we need to take these individuals head on. The idea that it’s just going to happen with going around and stepping back from the world stage I think is wrong.
– “The first when you talk about national security is about our military. You know, when you look at the military today, this is the smallest Air Force we’ve ever had since it was created. You look at the Army, one of the smallest we’ve had since World War I. That’s a real challenge.”
