About Congressman John Katko
Congressman John Katko is the Republican Congressman from New York’s 24th district, near Syracuse. He won his first election to Congress by 20 percentage points – the largest margin of defeat suffered by an incumbent in the cycle. Katko is a former federal prosecutor. In 1994, John began a two decades-long career with the U.S. Department of Justice, first as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia and then with the DOJ’s Criminal Division, Narcotic & Dangerous Drug Section based in the Nation’s Capital. John’s prosecutorial and law enforcement work received local, national and international attention. This January, John retired from the U.S. Department of Justice to become a full-time Republican, Conservative, and Independence candidate. John and his wife Robin, an RN working in women’s healthcare, have three children.
