Congressman Jerry Nadler – Democrat – serves as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 10th congressional district mostly in Manhattan. Representative Jerrold Nadler was named chairman of the House Judiciary Committee in November of 2017. Prior to his election to Congress – Nadler served in the New York Legislature from 1977 to 1992. Nadler is also a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure committees. The Congressman is considered to a leading expert on urban planning and rail transportation. A major project in his plans is The Gateway Program. The Program is the planned phased expansion and renovation of the Northeast Corridor (NEC) rail line between Newark, New Jersey, and New York City, New York. The program was to be a partnership between State and Federal funds. Last week the Federal government announced there “was no deal” which has drawn wide criticism from every sector.
