About Daniel Donovan
Congressman Daniel Donovan is a Republican who represents Staten Island and parts of South Brooklyn in the 11th Congressional District of New York. Congressman Donovan was elected to Congress on May 5 – 2015 during a special election and sworn in on May 12 – 2015. He was elected after the incumbent Congressman Michael Grimm was convicted of tax evasion. Prior to running for Congress – in 2003 – Mr. Donovan ran for and won the office of Richmond County District Attorney. During his tenure – his office led the city’s prosecutors with the highest felony convictions. From 1989 until 1996 Congressman Donovan was an Assistant District Attorney in the office of Robert M. Morgenthau. In 1997 he became Chief of Staff to then Staten Island Borough President Guy V. Molinari.
