About Aristedes Mahairas
Aristedes Mahairas was named as the special agent in charge of the Special Operations/Cyber Division of the New York Field Office in 2015. Mr. Mahairas most recently served as the special assistant to the Executive Assistant Director of the National Security Branch (NSB) and section chief of the NSB Executive Staff Section. Mr. Mahairas entered on duty with the FBI in 1996 and was assigned to the New York Field Office, where he worked as an undercover employee in several successful undercover operations. Agent Mahairas has served in a number of posts all over the world including Athens, Southeast Europe, supervisor of the Joint Terrorism Task Force responsible for Canada and Africa. Mr. Mahairas led five separate teams, which included 130 investigators and analysts, and focused on terrorism-related cases affecting New York City and the adjoining counties.
