About Simcha Felder

New York State Senator Simcha Felder was elected November 2012 in the 17th Senate District which encompasses the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Midwood, Flatbush, Borough Park, Kensington, Sunset Park, Madison and Bensonhurst. Before his election Felder served as Deputy Comptroller for Budget, Accounting, Administration and he had previously served as a City council member from the same area. He served as the Chair of the Council’s Government Operations and Sanitation and Solid Waste Management committees and also chaired the Landmarks Committee. As Senator Felder currently chairs the newly-created New York City Education Subcommittee and the Children and Families Committee, he is also a member of the Aging; Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business; Health; Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities; and Infrastructure and Capital Investment Committees. In addition, he is a member of the newly formed Taskforce on the Delivery of Social Services for New York City.
