About Steven C. Griffen

Steven C. Griffen, M.D., serves as the Senior Vice President of Research at the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and leads the relationships that JDRF has forged with important corporate/industry partners, other non-profits, governments and the broader T1D research community. Dr. Griffen heads the Translational Development group, focusing on taking identified potential interventions into the clinic to establish their validity in early phase human clinical trials. These efforts move novel therapeutic innovations, both drugs and devices, into the clinic and ultimately into the hands of patients with T1D. Before his move to industry, Dr. Griffen was a faculty member at the University of California, Davis where he served as the Endocrine Fellowship Program Director and co-founded the Young Adult Diabetes Clinic, which focused on optimizing care for patients with type 1 diabetes.
