About Stephen Cohen
Professor Stephen Cohen is professor emeritus of Russian studies, history, and politics at New York University and Princeton University. A Nation contributing editor. In 2004, he was named by the World Affairs Councils of America as one of “America’s 500 Most Influential People” in the area of foreign policy. Cohen is the author, co-author, or editor of over 14 books. He has written books on India, Pakistan, nuclear proliferation, disaster management, and the application of technology to the prevention or amelioration of terrorism. Professor Cohen’s most recent book is, “Soviet Fates.” Cohen is married to Katrina Vanden Heuvel, the editor, and publisher of The Nation.
