On August 14th, Attorney General Bill Barr announced a former FBI lawyer is expected to plead guilty for his role in the Mueller investigation. The announcement came as part of John Durham’s probe into the FBI’s handling of the 2016 Trump-Russia investigations. Democrats have called Durham’s probe a “politically charged exercise,” but Rudy Giuliani told The Cats Roundtable that the AG’s announcement proved a “conspiracy” to keep Trump out of office.

Giuliani called it Durham’s “first real act,” calling the Connecticut Attorney General a “tough-as-nails prosecutor.”

He expects the former FBI lawyer, Kevin Clinesmith, to help “connect the dots” of a deeper cabal to unseat President Trump during 2016 and 2017.

The former New York Mayor’s comments on the Durham probe followed his round-up of some of the week’s latest news, including the growing fears of mail-in voter fraud in the upcoming November election, and Democratic Presidential nominee, Joe Biden’s, announcement that he was selecting California Senator Kamala Harris to be his running mate.

The announcement of a Biden-Harris ticket, according to Giuliani, only works to reinforce to many Americans that Democrats are not looking out for their interests.

He told The Cats Roundtable that the rise of unrest across the country, combined with Democratic leaders’ failures to condemn it, has made the need for a law-and-order President more urgent than ever. And to Giuliani, along with millions of Americans, that President can only be Trump.

“I think our country is in tremendous turmoil right now,” Giuliani explained. “The reality is, there’s a choice for the American people to make. Trump offers us to defend our way of life, and what the Democrats are allowing in these cities is a direct assault on the American way of life.”

He argued that Trump was the best option to lead America back from under the anxieties of a pandemic, the anxieties of civil unrest, and the anxieties of economic instability.

“We’ve got to get this country on a track of law and order in the right way, and it’s only Trump that can really take our economy—not just back to where it was—but way above where it was,” Giuliani told The Cats Roundtable.

For many like Giuliani, Trump is the first President to stand up to what many perceive as decades-old appeasement policy with U.S. rivals, such as China and Iran.

“We’ve destroyed entire industries,” Giuliani said about the export of American jobs and production from states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, to China and elsewhere, something President Trump has promised to reverse with his America First policies.

Giuliani also joined the chorus skeptical of the growing call for a mail-in voting Presidential election. He called the mail-in system an “invitation to cheat.”

With the USPS’s warning to 46 states this past week that it could not guarantee ballots would arrive on time for election day, Giuliani called it “totally ridiculous” since tens of millions of mail-in votes could be handled, counted, or received in time.

He feared Democrats could use the delay to stuff the ballots, if the numbers don’t go in their favor, or don’t cast enough doubt on the results to force another election, something Giuliani told The Cats Roundtable Democrats had occasionally been “successful at doing.”

“You’ve got to close your eyes to it, to not know that it happens,” Giuliani warned.
