About Michael McMahon

Michael McMahon was elected District Attorney of Staten Island on November 3, 2015, the seated vacated by the recent election of former District Attorney Dan Donovan to Congress. Mr. McMahon was the former U.S. Representative for New York’s 13th congressional district, serving from 2009 until 2011. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He was previously a member of the New York City Council. Michael McMahon has spent his whole life living and working on Staten Island. McMahon is a lifelong resident of Staten Island. He is of German and Irish heritage. Democrat Michael McMahon will be Staten Island’s DA, defeating first-time candidate but longtime prosecutor Joan Illuzzi, to flip what had been a Republican seat for 11 years.
