About Jeff Klein
State Senator Jeff Klein – a Democrat was first elected to the state senate in 2004. He represents parts of Bronx and Westchester Counties. He currently serves as Senate Coalition Co-Leader and Leader of the Independent Democratic Conference – a conference which he co-founded in 2011. In 2014 – Senator Klein was the prime sponsor of the New York SAFE Act – watershed legislation that provided New York with the toughest gun laws in the nation. Klein previously served as Senate President Pro Tempore from 2012-2014. He also served as Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate from 2009-2010. Prior to that – Senator Klein served his current district as a member of the New York State Assembly for ten years.
