About Dr. Anthony Fauci

Dr. Anthony Fauci, is the Director of NIAID, National Institute of Infectious Diseases.  He is an immunologist who has made substantial contributions to HIV/AIDS research and other immunodeficiencies, both as a scientist and as the head of the National Institute.   He oversees a $4.5 billion budget and an extensive research portfolio of basic and applied research to prevent, diagnose, and treat infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Ebola other transmitted infections, influenza, tuberculosis, malaria and illness from potential agents of bioterrorism.
