– “If you end up adding to that $18.5 trillion the unfunded civilian and military pensions and retiree healthcare, the additional underfunding for Social Security, the additional underfunding for Medicare, various commitments and contingencies that the federal government has, the real number is about $65 trillion rather than $18 trillion, and it’s growing automatically absent reforms.”

David Walker served as United States Comptroller General from 1998 to 2008, and is Founder and CEO of the Comeback America Initiative. He is a National Co-Founder of No Labels, a group which endorses bipartisan cooperation in the Congress. Walker served as Comptroller general of the United States from 1998-2008. He was appointed by Bill Clinton. While at the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Walker undertook a number of transformational reforms within the GAO and the government that were widely recognized. GAO employees rated the agency as the second best place to work in the federal government. In 2010, he established the Comeback America Initiative. He has authored three books, with the latest one entitled Comeback America: Turning the Country Around and Restoring Fiscal Responsibility
