About Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the U.S. Representative for Florida’s 23rd congressional district representing Miami Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. The Congresswoman is a Democratic and the Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Prior to coming to Congress, she served in the Florida House of Representatives, the Florida Senate. She serves on House Appropriations and the subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations. She is Chief Deputy Whip. She announced her support of Hillary Clinton for her party’s 2008 presidential nomination, and in June 2007 was named one of Clinton’s national campaign co-chairs. In the 2016 elections, her early support of Secretary Clinton brought criticism she was favoring Clinton in the Democratic primaries. She rose above the criticism and is taking a unified Party to the National Convention in Philadelphia.
