About Comptroller Scott Stringer
Comptroller Scott Stringer is the 44th New York City Comptroller. He was elected Comptroller in 2013. He is a Democrat. He was previously the 26th Borough President of Manhattan. In 1992 – Stringer ran for Congressman Jerry Nadler’s Assembly seat representing the Upper West Side and was elected. He had been a staff member of Nadler’s for a number of years. Scott Stringer served for thirteen years and six terms in the State Assembly – from 1992 until 2005. In 2005 he ran for Manhattan Borough President and won. Mr. Stringer is considered to among the most progressive politicians in the City even surpassing Mayor DeBlasio in that category.
