On a potential Democratic primary challenge to NJ Senator Robert Menendez:

– “I can’t tell you people haven’t asked me about it…I hope he {Menendez} prevails. I think he can prevail.”

– “I’ve always been a person whose life is about public service and public policy, and I do still think about it as part of my future.”

On the Iran nuclear deal:

– “Were I a member of the senate, I could not vote for it, at the end of the day, this isn’t about loyalty to party or individuals. It’s about the welfare of our country.”

About Bob Torricelli

Former Senator Bob Torricelli joined the White House staff as Deputy Counsel to Vice President Walter F. Mondale in 1978. He was then elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from the Ninth District of New Jersey in 1982 and was re-elected seven times prior to his election to the U.S. Senate in 1996.  During his tenure in the Senate, he was a member of the Senate Finance, Governmental Affairs, Foreign Relations, Judiciary, and Rules committees. Senator Torricelli was elected to the Senate Democratic Leadership as the Chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.  Upon retiring from the Senate, Senator Torricelli established an international business consulting firm, Rosemont Associates, and a firm specializing in renovating and operating residential real estate.
