About Jeff Klein
New York State Senator Jeff Klein, a Democrat was first elected to the state senate in 2004. He represents parts of Bronx and Westchester Counties. He currently serves as Senate Coalition Co-Leader and Leader of the Independent Democratic Conference, a conference which he co-founded in 2011.In 2014, Senator Klein was the prime sponsor of the New York SAFE Act, watershed legislation that provided New York with the toughest gun laws in the nation. Klein previously served as Senate President Pro Tempore from 2012-2014. He also served as Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate from 2009-2010. Prior to that, Senator Klein served his current district as a member of the New York State Assembly for ten years.
