Former Senator Bob Torricelli joined the White House staff as Deputy 
Counsel to Vice President Walter F. Mondale in 1978. He was then elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from the Ninth District of New Jersey in 1982 and was re-elected seven times prior to his election to the U.S. Senate in 1996. During his tenure in the Senate – he was a member of the Senate Finance – Governmental Affairs – Foreign Relations – Judiciary – and Rules committees. Senator Torricelli was elected to the Senate Democratic Leadership as the Chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Upon retiring from the Senate – Senator Torricelli established an international business consulting firm – Rosemont Associates – and a firm specializing in renovating and operating residential real estate.
