EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt,  is the former Republican Attorney General of OklahomaScott Pruitt and is the current Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) appointed by Donald Trump.  Pruitt represented Tulsa and Wagoner Counties in the Oklahoma Senate from 1998 until 2006. In 2010, Pruitt was elected Attorney General of Oklahoma. In that role, he was the self-described “leading advocate against the EPA’s activist agenda.” As Oklahoma’s Attorney General, Pruitt sued the Environmental Protection Agency at least 14 times regarding the agency’s actions.  In 2012, Pruitt was elected as chairman of the Republican Attorneys General Association, and re-elected for a second term in February 2013.  Pruitt has been one of the most active EPA Administrators since President Nixon created the post.  The EPA is not a Cabinet department, but the Administrator is normally given cabinet rank.the cabinet post.  During his January 18, 2017, confirmation hearing to be EPA Administrator, he said that “the climate is changing, and human activity contributes to that in some manner”.[101] In March 2017, Pruitt said that he does not believe that human activities, specifically carbon dioxide emissions, are a primary contributor to climate change.
