Should there be a New York Worlds Fair?The World’s Fair of tomorrow would be funded by Microsoft and Apple, among other 21st Century technology titans, under a plan outlined by former Mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis.

Just as IBM and General Motors played outsized roles in the look and feel of the 1964-65 World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, today’s tech giants will be at the forefront of a future fair — should one happen — Catsimatidis said on Tuesday.

“Let’s create the dreams of the 21st Century,” the Gristedes supermarket owner said during a Daily News-sponsored panel at CitiField. “Let’s see what’s in their heads. Microsoft and Apple could spend $50 million each or $100 million — it’s just digits to them.”[]
